jean is a perfectly imperfect singer, songwriter, and artist

jean loves sound and color

sound

She explores the hard reality of life against a backdrop of hopeful determination in her first album named “becoming.” It is a “rough draft” and in progress, but as time and energy permit, she will refine it into a finished product.

The songs in this album remind listeners of the choice they have to cling to truth or to lies, to light or to darkness. She explores boundaries, relationships, and identity. With strong allusions to other authors and poets, she weaves poetry and thought into very pragmatic statements rooted in the identity she has found in the love of Jesus.

color

In her artwork, jean embraces the candid nature of life and the reality that not everything is “Instagram” picture perfect. She uses bold strokes, bright colors, and small details to express emotion and ideas. Mostly, she enjoys the process and is content to leave the “errors” and “mistakes” as a hallmark of authenticity.

She uses watercolor, ink, acrylic, and alcohol markers to create vivid and emotional pieces. She has also been known to paint with sauces or soups when she is out to lunch and does not have her travel watercolor kit.

“When things are dark, don’t let go. Lean in hard, hold My words close.”

“oblivion”

becoming

Over five songs, jean’s first rough draft album (“becoming”) navigates the difficulties of relationships and emotional health while highlighting the hope she has found in Jesus Christ. The album will be refined and re-published at a later date.

all i have

jean’s first rough draft “worshipful” album (“all i have”) calls out to each of us, including herself, to choose light, life, and community despite darkness and difficulty. The album will be refined and re-published at a later date.
