jean has been singing and writing songs for as long as she can remember, but it wasn’t until 2018 when she read “Adorning the Dark” by Andrew Peterson that she began to see herself as a songwriter. She began playing guitar daily and recording songs on her phone.

Combined with a few other experiences during that period the message became very clear:

If you don’t have a place to belong, create that place. Invite others into that place so they can also have a place to belong.
— jean

Don’t wait for space to open up in an existing circle of musicians, friends, or artists. Life is short and you have something to offer the world.

This website and first “rough draft” album are the beginning of that place where she and others can belong.
